Mr Pawar recalled how he had come to know about the commencement of Maharashtra Mandal in Singapore a few years back. He spoke about the Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Parishad conducted in New Jersey last month and made a point of reminding the audience that wherever the Marathi ‘manoos’ will go he will start a mandal followed by Ganpati, Diwali and Gudi Padva. “Apart from political life my interest lies in sports especially cricket. I would like to see more girls play cricket in India,” he said. It is good that Atul Temurnikar has developed so many schools and is considering developing more schools. I congratulate him for his good work and achievements, Mr. Pawar said amidst a thunderous round of applause.

A message penned by him for GIIS fraternity conveys: “I was very impressed to see the Global Indian International School here in Singapore. The excellent infrastructure they have put up for providing quality education and promoting the high Indian tradition, culture and values are indeed very commendable. My best wishes to all the students, staff and management of GIIS.”

As the school reopens afterthe holidays and the campus bustles again with students GIIS looks forward to such visits from dignitaries who are leaders in their chosen fields and who can inspire GIIS students.
