Parents as Stakeholders

Hello Parents!

It has been our endeavor at the Global Indian International Schools to encourage parents of our students to consider themselves as stake-holders in our institution and not merely are consumers of a service called education.

For, it is our belief that education in itself cannot be a service as it is about sharing and communicating knowledge to the young minds and encouraging them to grasp and use this knowledge to further their careers while making a positive impact on society in general and their local area network in particular.

In the words of the great 20th Century philosopher and thinker Vivekananda: All knowledge that the world has ever received comes from the mind; the infinite library of the universe is in our own mind. It is up to the teachers and the parents to help the students by tickling their thoughts and encouraging them to learn.

A mere rota system of learning will only produce well-trained machines that can at best do what they are told. To develop leaders, we need to develop independent thinking and that is best achieved only through a collaborative effort between the teachers and the parents. This blog provides you the forum to create that collaboration by sharing your views and generating discussion.

In the days, weeks and months ahead, we hope to see a constructive program develop whereby parents, playing the role of stake holders, provide their inputs into the education system, the road ahead and more specifically about teaching aids and mechanisms that can help us at the Global Indian Foundation proceed towards our goal of providing education without boundaries.
