[Research says those people are right](http://musicschoolcentral.com/10-compelling-studies-favor-greater-support-k-12-music-education/).  According to peer-reviewed studies in major publications, music education can elevate children's IQ, improve their emotional outlook and enhance academic achievement in non-music subjects. In fact, music education lies at the heart of Finland's world-renowned educational system.
